De tempel van Confucius in Peking is de op een na grootste confucius-tempel in China, na die in Confucius’ geboorteplaats. De tempel werd gebouwd in 1302 en tot 1911 kwamen mensen hun respect betuigen aan Confucius. Tijdens de Ming en Qing dynastieën werd het complex tweemaal vergroot. Het beslaat nu zo’n 20.000 m².
The Temple of Confucius at Beijing is the second largest Confucian Temple in China, after the one in Confucius’ hometown of Qufu. The temple was built in 1302, and officials used it to pay their respects to Confucius until 1911. The compound was enlarged twice, during the Ming and Qing dynasties and now occupies some 20,000 square meters.
