Peniscola

Peniscola, ook wel het “Gibraltar van Valencia” en lokaal “De stad in de zee” genaamd, is een versterkte zeehaven met een vuurtoren, gebouwd op een rotsachtige landtong ongeveer 67 m hoog en met het vasteland verbonden door slechts een smalle strook van de grond.

Peniscola, often called the “Gibraltar of Valencia,” and locally as “The City in the Sea”, is a fortified seaport with a lighthouse, built on a rocky headland about 67 m high, and joined to the mainland by only a narrow strip of land.
