Mya Thein Dan Pagoda is also known as Hsinbyume Pagoda. It was built in 1816 by King Bagyidaw in memory of his favorite wife, the Hsinbyume Princess. The seven terraces encircling the Pagoda represent the seven mountain ranges around the mythical Mount Meru, the center of Buddhist cosmology.
